Studio Manual

Social Code

We expect everyone to foster a well-organized, respectful and collaborative environment. You should avoid offending, participating in heated altercations and disrupting our workplace. We will not tolerate anyone intimidating, pestering, humiliating, victimizing or sabotaging others. We also prohibit willful discrimination based on age, sexual orientation, gender, ethnicity, race, religion or disability. This is by no means an exhaustive list but it gives an indication, use your common sense. 🙂

Session Backups

Live Backups: We have a secure, automated system making live backups every 30 minutes. Also, our studio software keeps an auto-save log. The point is, all data is safe and accessible, no matter what.

Lifetime Backups: We also retain all session files, for life. Is it 5 years after a session, and the requirements for streaming platforms have changed? We’re able to access and bounce out new versions of past sessions.

Drug Free

No one is permitted to smoke, drink, or use any drugs in the studio.

Punctuality

We aren’t trying to throw a slew of rules out, but we want to respect everyone’s time – from session musicians to engineers and artists. Please arrive on time (or 15 minutes before time 🙂).

Also, communication and honesty are key. If you’re stuck in traffic or just woke up late, let the office manager know so all team members can adjust.

Lunch (for day sessions)

Day sessions usually last from 10am-5pm and at some point we will need to stop working in order to eat (bittersweet, we know). So all day sessions include lunch, free of cost. Let the office manager know if you have any allergies or dietary restrictions (or if you have any food related suggestions).

Dinner (for night sessions)

We offer dinner during our nightly sessions. It doesn’t matter what you eat or what delivery service you use, just please stay under $20 per dish. 🙂

Snacks

  • We order snacks every Monday. If you would like a snack available during your session, please send the office manager any recommendations before their cutoff at 11 a.m. that day.
  • We have room temp water, green tea, and honey sticks on a regular basis.

Cleanliness

Even though we keep things tidy, please keep the area picked up. Here are some good rules of thumb:

  • Rinse your own dishes.
  • Throw away your stuff. Don’t leave garbage on in the studio.
  • Clean the coffee/tea machine if you’re the last one to use it.
  • If you use a room, leave it the way you entered it.

Process

  1. Client onboarding – we get familiar with our client’s needs, share the studio deets and price schedule, then answer all of our client’s questions.
  2. Booking – after session dates are agreed, we send our client’s the invoice. The 50%, non-refundable deposit must be paid first in order to book the session(s). For payment, there are options, but we prefer Zelle → info@338studios.com.
  3. Session(s) – Laugh. Chill. Create.
  4. Post session(s) – when the song or project is complete, we render any audio format our client’s need, from stems to 24-bit/192khz high-res WAVs and beyond.

Rescheduling

We understand that life happens. If you need to reschedule a sesh, please give us 48 hours advance notice.
